“deck chairs” (1987)
Some of the objects I made for my diploma degree at the College of Art and Handcraft, Bergen. The institute of textile was very rigid at that time, and I had to struggle to be allowed to experiment with materials and three-dimensional shapes. I decided to use the deck chair as a model for the forms I made . It was a logical frame in which I could hang textiles. The objects ended up with a double intention; they were deck chairs, but useless in that matter.
